Readiness Testing comprises of three main parts:

• Configuration Review - where the installation of the portal server is evaluated within the larger context of the IT infrastructure


• Code Review - where each custom development is analytically reviewed against Java development and API best practice


• Performance Review - an empirical validation of the system's overall performance. A Performance Review is of paramount importance as it provides a profile of scalability and a realistic estimate of expected response time to the end user (the portal is tested against increasing load using realistic usage scenarios of the various user groups). CleanCode advises clients to schedule Readiness Testing well in advance (approximately six weeks before going live) and allow 2-3 weeks to fix any issues that may be present.
